Johnny Blas is a dynamic conguero, percussionist, composer, and bandleader known for his explosive blend of Latin Jazz, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and soulful improvisation. With over 25 years of performing and recording experience, Johnny brings a bold, high-energy presence to every stage—fusing Salsa, Latin Jazz, and Afro-Cuban traditions with effortless style and precision.

Originally from New York and inspired by legends such as Mongo Santamaría, Ray Barretto, and Armando Peraza, Johnny has developed a signature sound that is both modern and deeply rooted in tradition. He has released twelve albums, including six with Ubiquity’s CuBop label, and continues to receive strong radio play in the U.S. and abroad.
